pricey blog posts

Are you receiving freebies and then writing about them on your blog?

Well if you are, you better watch out the Federal Trade Commission is looking for you and your money.

If you are a blogger and receive money or free products from a company and then endorse the product on your blog, and do not tell your audience you received the free products on your post, you could be fined up to $11,000, for each post.

The Federal Trade Commission posted this information on Sunday, on their website.

I don’t think this is a huge deal. As a journalist I know that I cannot receive gifts or money in turn for a story or a good right up on a product.

I do think it is good information to be posted for the majority of bloggers who do not know the rules of journalism, so thanks to Read Write Web for posting a blog about the issue.

So my suggestion is to just tell the bloggersphere that you received the product for free and then write your opinion about the product.

I am sure there are going to be a lot of gray areas in this situation. Like what if a blogger is from another country and the FTC tries to fine them without realizing that they are from somewhere else?

What do you think do you? Do you think this could cause more law suits in our law suit loving world?
